This is lesson 3 in a series of video tutorials dedicated to the metatrader 4 forex trading platform. In this series we explore the less commonly known features of the platform, and teach various tricks and tips to make your life as a trader easier. This particular video discusses the process of installing new indicators by hand into metatrader 4, without having to search for the correct installation folder. This is a very handy technique for people who have more than one installation of metatrader 4 (ie: with different brokers). See more FX Instructor videos and articles at www.fxinstructor.com.

Thanks again, you understood me right
Hi Batty, you don’t “open” an EX4 file. You shouldn’t need to double-click on it ever. All you need to do is put it into your MT4′s ExpertsIndicators folder. So if you installed MT4 inside C:Program FilesMetaTrader 4, just dump all your indicator EX4 files into C:Program FilesMetaTrader 4ExpertsIndicators and restart the platform. Indicators are accessible via Insert -> Indicators -> Custom menu, or from the Navigator’s Custom Indicators list.
Sorry, not entirely clear about your question:
If you mean installing MT4 from 2 different brokers so you have 2 separate installs, 1 from each broker – that’s definitely doable. Just install them normally, making sure they don’t overwrite each other (different installation paths).
If you mean installing MT4 TWICE from 2 brokers (as in 2 x 2 = 4 installations total), make sure you pick different paths for each. One problem though is that the shortcut icons would probably get overwritten.
Thanks for the answer,
Is it possible to upload twice the MT4 software from 2 different brokers in parallel…?
how do you open an .ex4 file
Because many brokers support MT4 (and their versions of MT4 usually have different names), it doesn’t really care if other instances are installed, as long a you install them all in different folders (ie: one for each broker).
How is it possible to have 4 different installations…?
great, thank much for the post
how do you get 4?
Great video colection, great job
